If you had fun playing this remake though, I'm not gonna be an annoying purist, the fun is what matters most. But the original game for me is still much better in terms of gameplay feel.

I tried the old style game controls after finishing the game, which are kind of accurate but it's absolutely not old style and they couldn't help but modernize it too much for my liking. It feels really wrong and the new animations are imo too realistic and subtle at times for it.

The new action game controls are okay. Not the worst feeling, but I kinda stand that the original level design still works like that to some extent. However, going against the wall is completely busted and very awful feeling. It's just wrong, annoying, unintuitive.

So I finished MGS Delta just now. I have already digested the bad of the graphics so I was just able to ignore it and just kind of enjoy the mood, the classic filter was the first thing I enabled and it did help a bit. There are two control options which are radically different.

I still see a lot of confusion about what decompilation, recompilation and ports are and what level of effort is involved in each type of project. It's important that people understand the difference, as recompilation took a drastically different meaning that when it was originally introduced.

This stuff is always more complex than you think it is. I cannot enumerate all the reasons, shit's technical and no one really understands it aside from developers. But Sony still dropped the ball very much in terms of emulation because it's sad that the PS1 emulator on PS3 was a lot better lol

In all seriousness though: you can't just reuse fanmade emulators like that. Because then y'all would complain about that lol And even then, full compatibility is not always ensured that way, but it does not excuse Sony or Microsoft for that matter. They just barely care.

I see a lot of stuff about how PS5 can run PS2 and PS3 discs and people being like "Sony had this possibility the entire time" and I'm like, if only y'all actually complained about how Microsoft has done backwards compatibility too lol
