One of my favourite ruins in the southern Flinders Ranges and one that I'm able to access as I have permission from the owners. I have taken night shots here in the past - with the Milky Way above. Beautiful little ruin.

It's a great time to go birding. There's a boom in many species and it will get even better in the weeks/months ahead, I predict. Budgies are being seen quite close to Adelaide now.

Many people just drive through Whyalla - not considering it worthy of a stop. But the foreshore and jetty areas are lovely. Saturday was a spectacular day. I love the layers of colours.

Indeed.

Yeah, you can get genetic colour variations like albinism and leucism but it's rare. In all the thousands of budgies I've seen in the wild, I've only ever seen the green/yellow colour.

There's a Tickle Belly Hill in Cleve too 😄

This is such a typical scene - me wandering along a dirt road with my camera 😄 There were budgies in that tree on the left. 22 actually. My daughter-in-law counted them. My son took this pic from the car.

It's amazing to see them in such large numbers!

Had a fun day yesterday with my friends who live near Quorn. First, brunch at Tickle Belly Hill then some birding. We found cockatiels and budgies! A lot of driving though. I'm a bit tired today.

It was a case of knowing they can be found at Port Neill and we were driving past anyway ... so we stopped to take a look.

We went looking for hoodies today (hooded plovers) but no joy. However, we did find some ruddy turnstones and spent some time on this gorgeous beach at Port Neill.
