Most Americans don't want civil war or martial law. Not for Trump or any other politician. We want to raise our families and live our lives and watch football and be left alone. This isn't Paris in 1789. We want suburban boredom, not to storm barricades. People are tired of this and want it to stop.

It doesn't have to work. It just has to look like Trump wants to make it work. Just keep the plates spinning for a few more weeks.

It's clear the plan is to blame Ukrainian refinery attacks for high gas prices, and portray Trump as working with Putin to save both nations. And the only way to stop the barbarism is to vote GOP in November. It's breathtaking in its cynicism, and it won't work.

I feel for the people about to get whacked by Hurricane Isaias. Nobody deserves to be imperiled by a natural disaster, or lose their home and have to start over. The disaster cycle will embrace the survivors, then forget about them. That's when recovery really starts.

I also just remembered the insane story Trump made up that his uncle John taught the Unabomber at MIT, and every single authority on both the Unabomber and MIT said it never happened.

Putting aside how much difficulty Trump is having speaking, this isn't true. John Trump was assigned by the FBI to look through Tesla's final papers after he died in a squalid NYC hotel room in 1943. Trump found Tesla's later work had "no new, sound, workable principles or methods."

The redistricted CA48 is one of the tightest and most pivotal races in the 2026 election. So I'm sure the Republican running there loves that the president won't shut up about letting San Diego get nuked.

It is ominous, but also remember that big promises of special things that are about to happen have been a cornerstone of the decade-long prosperity scam Trump has been running. It's how QAnon works. You promise big, deliver nothing, and keep the marks on the hook for the next promise.
