Maybe it's just my lived experience since I've always focused on the art side of things but I feel like that's the one role most indie teams need! I've known a lot of artists who wanted to make a game and then hit a brick wall once they tried learning programming, that was me with unity 15 years ago

I used to post regularly on subreddits dedicated to finding dev groups like 15 years ago, it is weird to think a lot of people I know today came from the connections back then but then again, that's just what happens when you're online for a long long time isn't it

I hope I get to have that one day, I've gotten close a few times including attempting to lead projects but the stability/free time/follow-through requirement woof. I will remain hopeful and continue honing my craft, might check out the itch forums, you're right...

I see a whole lot of people around me doing it so it must be possible but every time I try to start something, or join something in progress, it falls through. I'll keep trying but sometimes it feels like the only way is to do it all myself. But, I like working on a team? Art is more fun on a team.

I'd like to do a game jam someday, but I don't know how to find people to do that with. Or make an indie game, but how do teams find each other? Is it just knowing the right people? It feels like such a mystery to me :3
