Women’s labor and bodies are viewed as community property when domestic and emotional labor is gendered. When women cannot access abortion care, her body is being treated as community property. When women are told they must provide sex to partners on demand etc.

Fathers need to have these conversations with their sons. It needs to go beyond sexual assault to bodily autonomy including labor. When families treat women’s labor as community property, a message is sent about bodily autonomy. This means better modeling in families, not just a few conversations.
