oh yeah no this one's fucked up. It's reaaaaallll fucked up. You have to learn it very very well just to clear it. I beat Stage 8 and got hit one time during the Dracula fight

Not the one I played. I had a proper dump, I was taking 4 damage by stage 3 🙂. I appreciate the heads up though, I'm very aware of the shitty dump that tends to be floated as a clean one.

It's more just that even in using the old ones, its impossible to escape MAME as the comprehensive way to play old arcade stuff that isn't outright owning a cabinet, so it really fuckin' sucks they've turned to this at all when ppl would be very content to wait for updates that fixed stuff by hand

Really depends on what game(s) you're trying to play on it. I haven't updated in a while (haven't checked my version tag) but if you wanna play one of the games that legitimately either didn't work or wasn't supported beforehand you're shit outta luck. Granted, I just dont use the newest builds

I honestly think I do the bare minimum here and never promote anything that I know has it in the process, and avoid where I can (generally hobbyist stuff). For playing arcade games its so chopped though, there's nothing out there like MAME and, well 😭

A person can also write shitty code for long-term scalability in projects that I'll use and promote too, but the key is that it's THEIR shitty code, so even after a long time they'll be able to rationalize what is shitty about it to fix it.
