After a summer of deadly heatwaves and wildfires, the EU must make nature-based solutions the first line of defence against climate disasters.
As work begins on the European Framework for Climate Resilience, nature must be at the heart of adaptation policy.

Migratory birds need urgent action and support from all actors to address the unprecedented threats they face.

Let this #WorldMigratoryBirdDay be a call to listen to the science and redouble efforts to implement evidence-based policies to better protect people & nature.

Quote: "The recent IPBES Business and Biodiversity Report shows that civil society plays an important role in generating data, knowledge and capacity that can ensure that businesses, state and non-state actors drive positive action for biodiversity. From simple at-home sightings to trained volunteers contributing to coordinated global efforts, such actions can help scientists detect population trends, identify emerging threats and inform conservation measures at local, national and international levels." — Luthando Dziba, Executive Secretary, Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let's make some space for nature.🌿

Nature is essential for physical, emotional and mental health and well-being, as more biodiverse environments, and access to them, facilitate recovery from stress, depression & other health-related conditions. ❤️‍🩹

Ancient yew and oak, growing side by side for probably centuries, their roots and crowns locked in a tight embrace. The magic of an Irish rainforest 🌍
