Looking forward to seeing the "Strawbrick eco 1:1 demonstrator" at IBA27 in Stuttgart. #strawbuiling #strawhouse
Half the construction industry wants to get climate neutral with straw, whether as an aggregate, bioenergy or as biochar. What if everything were simply made from straw?
A short film about Rustenburgstraat project in Eindhoven 🇳🇱 89 social housing homes built with biobased materials including EcoCocon straw panels
Good morning blue sky
Llandrindod?
It never ends
Had a good time at the Structural Timber conference in Birmingham yesterday, plenty of good talks and buzz around our Ecological stand. Didn't get any silverware at the evening awards for the @ecococon.bsky.social straw wall system but it's the taking part that counts right?
Attitude probably more than anything else
Yes you'd think so, but we're usually hitting a brick wall when talking to developers
On my way back from the annual meet up of @ecococon.bsky.social partners. Lots of inspiring conversations and ideas. Let’s scale up straw construction 🌾
Battery range typically drops in colder winter temperatures by about 20% here in UK, I suspect it would be more in Finland.
They are great bikes
Guten morgen blau himmel
Sorry not this year, hopefully next year for a 10 year anniversary
There’s a separate Grundfos pump
Ouch! Speedy recovery for the dog and your wallet

Haven’t come across this before
I wouldn't ignore the towel rails as they are basically running for about 6 months of the year (when the clocks change). During the summer season we have about 3 heating cycles for the DHW cylinder per day, in winter season it's 5 cycles. So I'd say total is around 500kWh or 5kWh/m2a
It's ducted to outside. Free cooling would help in summer but not so much in winter. I think @estresidder.bsky.social has one without ducting
Just updated energy demand figures for our electric & heatpumpified passivhaus home. Cooling demand crept up during the summer heatwaves, but is still relatively low compared with hot water generation demand. And zero energy bills thanks to a combination of PV system and battery storage.
