always! i was mostly just following along with the development as an interesting project. maybe we can get a discussion started in the e18e discord to see how we can contribute some of the ideas into iconv-lite, that would be great

Aha it turns out it isn't yours after all. It's from when colorjs used to be under your name:

github.com/LeaVerou/col...

@43081j.comOct 11, 2026, 7:25 AM

It's also the only one that isn't 3 channels, which was a pain for deciding the right generic types 😅 (everything nicely returned [c1, c2, c3] before)

On a side note, I did find it amusing when I was trying to learn d65 <-> d50 conversion, the spec references your PR 😄 Building this stuff has just made me realise how many magic numbers CSS colours depend on 😅

@43081j.comOct 11, 2026, 7:16 AM

Unfortunately have no colour profile so we're left with only the fallback 😬 this library exists to parse the CSS strings too, not only convert. So I expect this one would rarely be converted and mostly just be parsed/stringified. Thanks a bunch though as this is helping me understand better 😄

@43081j.comOct 11, 2026, 6:49 AM

I'm not expecting it to see much use, more just so we don't have a gap compared to what a CSS <color> can be

@43081j.comOct 11, 2026, 6:46 AM

That's true, this is mostly just so we cover the available spaces in CSS. It follows what's in the spec: > Otherwise, the computed value of the device-cmyk() function must be the sRGB value of the CMYK color, as converted with the following naive conversion algorithm Admittedly not the most useful

@43081j.comOct 10, 2026, 6:50 PM

you can find it here if you haven't seen it yet, please do check it out! all feedback will be helpful 🙏

hueful has better types now and can convert to/from CMYK (using CSS level 5 `device-cmyk`) 🎨

A snippet of TypeScript converting the RGB values `[255, 20, 10]` to HSL using `hueful.convert`. Then going on to convert the HSL to CMYK using `hueful.convert` again.

A new text encodings library, iconv-nano, was posted in the @e18e.dev discord.

A day later, the author (Jeremy) is collaborating with @hyeseong.kim on making it ~80% smaller! 🤯

Always impressed by how e18e has managed to join up people with knowledge in such niche subjects 😄

@43081j.comOct 10, 2026, 7:48 AM

We're used to trying to resolve everything (issues, PRs, ideas, etc). If you try that today, that's how you become one of these folk who ships too much and have lost their focus. A new project every day, their current ones losing focus or attention. Drawing a line is a good idea

@43081j.comOct 10, 2026, 7:43 AM

This is the time when communities are more important than ever. Once you cut through the noise, many of us are still here collaborating, hacking away at ideas together, hanging out, etc. Filtering is a skill we all need to perfect. Discarding the distractions so we're only left with people & fun

i use this regularly. highly recommend checking it out!

If you can make a list or issue somewhere I could try take a look eventually 👀

not too long ago i joined as a maintainer of svelte's acorn-typescript plugin 👀 i missed hacking away at ASTs and parser stuff 😄 has also been super nice working with @baseballyama.bsky.social on modernising a bunch of it 🙏 always a joy to collab with the svelte team

A couple of doors here and there 😄

@43081j.comOct 8, 2026, 10:29 AM

community is key 💙

@43081j.comOct 7, 2026, 7:46 PM

note that if you want to do more complex things, for sure you should use `colorjs.io` as it has a very extensive list of functions, spaces, etc

@43081j.comOct 7, 2026, 7:45 PM

i wanted a more modern colour library, so i've created hueful! 🎨 - Convert between colour spaces - Stringify a colour in a space - Parse a colour string - Manipulate colours (e.g. lighten) This does the same job as the `color` lib & much more, without the weight of `colorjs.io`

@43081j.comOct 7, 2026, 10:59 AM

working on some colour system stuff - so, so, so many magic numbers 😅
