Like independently from any conversation about user welfare or training, we need to be very very clear that Anthropic IS trying to suggest that their models have moral rights. That is the point of what *Anthropic* is doing, regardless of any other argument.

Anthropic is not doing this for user safety. That's not me interpreting their intentions, Anthropic openly says they are doing this in the spirit of "model welfare".

Independently, there could be a conversation about whether this is users/training, but critics aren't missing Anthropic's point.

Incidentally, correct me if I'm wrong but even out of office Biden hasn't called what's happening Palestine a genocide, right? Like.. I don't see any news articles about Biden taking a stance on this or rallying Democrats about it.

Which is a thing he could still do.

Shaun, if you just wait a little longer, he's totally about to have done the thing yesterday that he still hasn't done today. We're all hoping that in the future we will have made progress on this two years ago. You have to trust that Biden has the potential to begin working on this previously.
