I really like how this drawing came together. Also, I figured out that if I turn down the brightness on the images I scan, they no longer look washed out. Very happy about that indeed

I love this sense of friction in art. When you try something and it doesn't quite work. You retry, redo, pivot. But then it all clicks together. And it's great. And holy shit IT IS GREAT πŸ€˜πŸ«€

People really need to fucking re-learn the difference between "I don't like this" and "This is harmful". Not liking a thing is fine, but you don't get to dictate what others enjoy, actually. Especially not within fiction. Be an adult. If you don't like something, move on.

everyone wants to tell artists what to do and i wish we could shift to telling audiences what to do sometimes. if you liked webcomics that were on tapas, follow somewhere else. learn to use RSS. don't let the seamlessness of apps turn your brain into soup. you can change your habits

Hey, at least it's done now and while it wasn't nice or easy it's done. You can at least attempt to get better now. Sending all the love, take care of yourself πŸ’™

WEYRWORLD (1990)

Acrylic on Watercolor Board - 27" x 36"

My schedule was booked up many months in advance, so Del Rey Books commissioned me to do this cover before the book was even written.

#art #booksky πŸͺπŸ“š

With wings spread wide, a white dragon perches on a rocky spire that rises out of cloud cover. Its legs are set unevenly as it gains a hold. Viewed from behind, a rider is saddle-mounted with legs straddling its neck. A handful of other dragons and riders are gathered on similar peaks for a conference in the clouds. The valley wall as seen only in the distance meanders across the horizon. Two large crescent moons hang in a hazy blue sky.
