Digger: you have to actually solve the world's problems not just pat yourself on the back for having the right opinions Will: how DARE YOU

this makes me elated to see, because he is *exactly* the type of person the film is critiquing far more than even Republicans (but it certainly fucking hates Republicans too)

Podcast boy (48 years old) getting a bit butt hurt

It's a movie designed for, above all else, left-wing people who are tired of the self-congratulatory smugness of other left-wing people

I wholly endorse this message

Iñárritu kinda hates himself, kinda hates you, hates society, but really hates Republicans, and most of all hates Adam McKay. And while this makes it sound miserable. It's actually funny, eminently watchable, and the reason to see it in theaters is weirdly enough: the foley work

*left-leaning folks

It's absolutely intended as a movie for left-leaning who hate Don't Look Up

Jesse Plemons really is one of the most important actors of this generation

Digger has one of the best depictions of capitalist manipulation I’ve ever seen in fiction in any medium. Ironically, that character is not Digger!

Digger is not about global warming.

A core message of the film is definitely, inarguably: pieces of art that browbeat the audience with politics don’t solve real world problems I don’t wanna say much more than that, just go see it

This nails it. It’s, in part, a critique of the sort of movie people wrongly treat it as

Friends. I, too wrote off Digger trailers as a pretentious ham-fisted satire about climate change & oligarchy starring actors unaffected by the troubles of the industry. Turns out it might be one of the smartest, funniest, most tragic films about storytelling and I was just being a judgmental bitch.

This is how I feel about the people who hate Digger (source: @ultimatemoviebuff on instagram)
