Sometimes the only way to truly find safety is to risk it all.

The Archwitch Rises an exceedingly queer romantasy novel where two men (and several gods) used to running and hiding fight back against an empire that doesn't want them to exist.

I accidentally forgot to put in a tip for our pizza order and couldn't change it and my only cash was quarters. It has now been over an hour since i ordered and the tracker says it may be another hour. I feel this is a just punishment (i am giving a larger than usual tip in quaters but... quarters)

I have a migraine and am looking on my phone, so I'm not 100% certain. The voice is obviously AI and the photos themselves look too clean to me (not the fuzziness of most of our photos from that era) but from what I remember of the laura mills photos the visuals themselves aren't too far off.

Probably. There's some pretty dramatic cracks, but uhhhh not that big

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.

Six small line charts showing the percent of U.S. high school students choosing each sexual identity response option by grade (9th to 12th), 2015 to 2025, with 95% confidence intervals. Heterosexual falls from about 85 to 90 percent before 2021 to about 73 percent in 2021 and 2023, then rises to about 78 to 80 percent in 2025. Gay or lesbian stays between about 2 and 5 percent throughout. Bisexual rises to about 12 percent in 2021 in every grade, then among 9th graders falls to about 7 percent in 2025, its 2019 level, while other grades stay near 10 percent. “Some other way,” added in 2021, falls from about 4 percent to about 2.5 percent. “Not sure” stays near 3 to 5 percent. A dotted line marks 2021, when CDC changed the response options.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

#FuckAi
These dipshits can burn right in hell with their GenAi crap

ARE THESE MADE USING AI?
Yes, Authors First productions use generative image and video Al tools to bring stories to the screen. But Al is the unlock, not the storyteller: every series is shaped by the author's original vision, guided by their final cut approval, and built by a human creative team of artists and craftspeople. We are transparent about our use of Al by design, because the goal isn't to replace human creativity - it's to produce stories that wouldn't otherwise get made.

Hiya! Since it's almost Halloween, it's time for one of my "favorite" spooky season PSAs! Don't buy taxidermy bats! None of them are ethically sourced, most are endangered, and the market for taxidermy or freeze dried bats is descimating local populations. Etsy, ebay, curio shows, none are okay.

Protect all trans people. Every one. Including the ones you think are unattractive or clocky. Protect the masculine trans women and the feminine trans men, too. Protect the trans people who can't or don't want to medically transition.

#kinktober day 11 on our list was biting, so here's that!

I never thought I was a masochist until your teeth found the juncture of my neck and shoulder. Maybe it was the sucking that did it, the gentle pressure cut with the sting of the bite. Maybe it was pavlovian: my brain associating the minor discomfort with the far greater pleasure of having you move steady and strong inside of me. But I think it really hit the next day, when I looked in the mirror and saw your wonky violet oval on my skin. I'm yours, my love. Claim me inside and out, and let the whole world see.

I think Godzilla should be the blueprint for long-running IPs. Screw canon, give your country's most exiting directors free reig, have multiple conflicting universes, use whichever lore you want and whichever you don't. But I don't think modern fandom culture has the maturity to embrace that.

Cage is reaching an age (he's 62) where it's very difficult for a movie star to continue having the same kind of star career Cage has enjoyed for 40 years and a huge part of how he's stayed relevant is exactly this "I want to get with someone doing something cool" attitude

People are discussing how Halloween candy is so terrible these days. A reminder that alot of the candy we eat is made with women’s prison labor. Russell Stover’s factory in Kansas busses in 150 women a day via a convict leasing program to staff their candy factory.

Russell Stover has begun using prison labor to make candy in
Kansas
A Russell Stover candy factory in Kansas has begun hiring incarcerated workers through a work release program, Eoin Higgins reports in his newsletter, The Flashpoint. About 150 women are bussed in from the Topeka Correctional Facility and paid $14 an hour, but the prison keeps some of their wages for room and board, taxes, transportation, and other expenses. When all is said and done, they take home less than $6 per hour. These deductions are high, but elsewhere in the country, they're even higher: In our May series on prison
