I know #StarWars has been on and off since the heat wave weeks ago, so I'm still regaining a footing and thinking out things.
But TROS is still a great, meaningful film to me, and I wanna still show it support.

@marthsbars.bsky.socialUnpopular #StarWars opinion: I still really love Finn & Phasma's duel in TLJ. While the alt version shows Phasma's own hidden agenda, seeing Finn clash with Phasma while BB-8 blows up troops like it's MGS4 is still great.
A fusion of both would be awesome tho.

@marthsbars.bsky.socialI say the first part in genuine earnest - Darth Vader’s appearance in Maul: Shadow Lord really is his best appearance this decade. Doesn’t say a word, but his relentless pursuit of Maul & ability to counter even his faster blows makes this one of his most terrifying & powerful on-screen depictions.
@marthsbars.bsky.socialVader def has cool moments when he’s allowed to be menacing, but it gets tiring seeing the same old “I’m Vader, I’m evil” story over and over. Kylo is a lot more dynamic - he’s gotten a taste of the Dark Side, but his internal struggles & pull towards Rey and the light make it hard to stay rooted.
@marthsbars.bsky.socialEven as a Clone Wars fan who felt Vader in the Maul series was his greatest peak, I find Kylo Ren cooler. I’ve rooted for him as an “underdog” most other Star Wars or anti-ST fans don’t understand. But his internal conflict and unique saber style make me gravitate to him more vs other villains.
