Oh did you wonder why dinosaurs died in this sort of pose? Is it because they were adorable little monsters?

[guy with a pretty limited podcast diet] we should make the whole year out of the couple weeks before the NBA season starts

There's a pretty basic two-part question at root, "do you have any morals and are you paying attention." And, well, we know people like him are paying attention.

Man, Newton's "disagreements with managements" line highlighted in here is GRIM

It is fascinating which subjects the NYT headline writers manage to write things like this about

Trump Hands Victories to Putin, Who Offers More War in Return

If I lacked object permanence in the sense that only things directly and overtly related to me seemed real I too would want to rename everything I see. What the hell is the Atlantic Ocean? Obviously fake.

Sand angels

Tesco the golden retriever flailing around on her side on some wet sand, flinging it around and rubbing her face and whole body in the sand, having a blastNow she’s kind flailed out on her back, paws in the air, with her sand angel impressions around her

The thing about this is that many, many people will now have the absurd lie in their heads as absolute fact, literally forever

Sometimes I wonder why people with like an entire walk-in full of easy-to-find skeletons would run for high office but then I remember that the kind of person who both has those skeletons and aspires to that office is probably a psychopath

Obviously it’s complicated but there’s an argument that one of the internet’s primary impacts was allowing shameless people to lie at a previously impossible scale

I think a shocking number of our major societal problems would vanish overnight if you could magically pull the plug on the X platform and Meta, both of which are carefully designed to turn people into the worst version of themselves.

Still mad about this. “He has many government contracts” sure ok anything else that might be driving this or nah

@davelevitan.bsky.socialOct 12, 2026, 12:24 PM

Genuine malpractice to write an entire long story about the world's richest racist attempting to put the biggest thumb in electoral history on the scale and not even nod toward, I dunno, "he agrees with nazis quite a bit" or something

Mr. Musk, who oversees a vast business empire that has benefited from enormous federal contracts, is famously unpredictable and often jumps from one project to another. He has been far quieter about his political work since his dramatic blowup with Mr. Trump last year. After months of wielding vast influence inside the White House and overseeing Mr. Trump’s government cost-cutting project, he raged against the president’s major domestic policy bill and floated threats to start a third party.

Oh is that all he says on X? The place that is a "semi-reliable indicator" of what he's thinking? That's it that might be of relevance to the largest political donations in American history? Nothing else pops to mind?

www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/u...

And on X, a semi-reliable indicator of where the billionaire’s mind is, Mr. Musk has written just seven direct posts this year about candidates in competitive midterm races, according to a Times review, a far cry from his relentless calls throughout 2024 to elect Mr. Trump. Five of those posts focused on Mr. Talarico — and one appeared critical of Senator Susan Collins, a vulnerable Republican in Maine.
