Pretty rare to go down river without seeing bighorn. Around Indy, and owl creek especially some of the rams are pretty big. Which pine creek trail did you do?
Gnome not really doing its job...
depends. Did you literally just call me from outside your office door, realizing you forgot your purse/badge at home and trying to figure out whether you could live without it or needed to come home and get it before driving to Boise for Music lessons at lunch?
Great time of year to go down to Corn Creek. We're out of River Rat season, so there will probably be a few rafters, but traffic should be nonexistent; it's too early for the road to turn to solid ice, and rockfall usually isn't much of an issue right now. Have fun!
There are trails if you get out of the Canyon, e.g., up Panther Creek or Spring Creek, but nothing that'd tie well with a visit to Corn Creek.
Most trails in the Salmon River Canyon start with a steep climb up the canyon walls. #NotFun Only ones I can think of would be the trail from Corn Creek downriver to Horse Creek. And maybe the Owl Creek Hot Springs trail. But full disclosure, I haven't set foot on either in the last 20 years.
(Yesterday) Her: “it was on the calendar, can you not see it” Me: no… Her: “see here, it’s…. It was on the calendar the last time……”
We lost one of the greats….
Margaret Hamilton, the first “Software Engineer,” who literally invented the term and an entire industry, had died.
Her code got us to the moon and back.
Gov. Brad Little did not attend the gubernatorial candidate forum, which was sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Idaho and other nonprofit organizations.
And, fwiw, I still think the snowpack numbers/models this year in some areas were overreporting vs actual.

Never thought I’d see anything like the 1996 ValuJet 592 Everglades crash scene ever again. And then I opened Reddit this morning and saw video of an ATR crash site in a swamp in Nigeria. It’s gone. “All we are finding is body parts”
Maybe because Soul Train was born this day in 1971 I want to tell this story. I was born in the Jim Crow south. When I began high school in 1972 it was just five years after local schools had desegregated.
“It also sets the precedent for using this chilling tactic on any journalist or watchdog as it sees fit.“ Oregon cities are doing this over and over again, making it prohibitive for any independent journalist without a team of lawyers to get public records. It’s outrageous.
I've spent a fair bit of time around #Idaho bears. And once got into a self-defense situation w/ an *injured* bear. (not fun)
If you get attacked by a bear in Salmon, 99.9% chance it's your fault
Hearing the sow & cubs were getting into trash piles near the house (sigh)
Like I said earlier...
Pre-dawn in my hood!

Sunset Heights... It's always Sunset Heights... whatever *it* is, it's always there. I drove up through that neighborhood the last time I visited fam (Salmon is my hometown), and I was shocked by what it's become in the last 10 years. used to be nice up there. kinda trashy M@G@ now.
Every couple of years, a grizzly wanders by Salmon, but they stays far from town. Usually along the divide.
