I don't think there's any good way to look at it really. It's people and we want a diverse community. We don't want anyone to leave. But that also means there will be disagreements and conflicts. And best we can do is try to give people the tools to manage their coexistence in shared space.

Yeah, my hope is once the emotions cool down, they realize it's not that big of a deal and we settled on a compromise that incorporated much of their feedback. I would've appreciated if some of them worked with us to cross the language barrier, rather than making the situation worse though.

Yeah, but that's also why we wanted to hash this out with the community, rather than making the whole thing in private. I think it's best way to find a compromise that works for everyone. We listened to feedback and there are no bans on latest draft.

It sucks. We did communicate with them afterwards too and lowered it to just a warning provided they understood that the behavior is inappropriate. We had onboarded some JP community members for moderation too a while back, but they never really engaged internally over the years.

I mean... That's exactly on what we've been talking about doing to resolve this situation and prevent it from happening again. Setting up a clear policy and procedure so staff knows what to do and what not to do and so does the community know what to expect and what the rules are.

I appreciate it and the stance. I am getting the feeling that even that is too much for the other side, as no policy was put in place yet. We left it open for more discussion and feedback, but instead it's met with vitriol. Either way, we'll stick to a compromise that preserves as much freedom.

We're smaller and much more reliant on community support, because we don't want to give up control to VC's, even if that gave us safety for a while and accelerated the development. But we're also tough. We survived multiple things that kill most other projects.

If you wanted to play this as numbers game, Japanese community is less than a quarter of our total population. I'd ideally for everyone to stay and be willing to coexist with each other, but at this point I don't see a way to achieve that. People are too polarized.

It's a screwed up situation. We're trying really hard for a compromise, but when any side is unwilling to find one, we will lose one or the other. I feel like we were put in an impossible situation at that point. Either we piss off pro AI or anti AI group. I'll fight for it to survive either way.

Resonite (and Neos) is an incredibly important part of my life that I've put so much into, even if I play less nowadays than I did during covid and early college years, it is something truly special to me and the first time I felt like I was apart of a larger community

I would love to see them! We need more cool things made with Resonite out there. I think the only way to combat all the negativity is with positivity at this point. Keep going, make cool stuff, share it with others.
