Runs will be at a premium in the ALCS between the Rays and Guardians, but there will still be plenty of balls in play and excitement on the bases.
@jayjaffe.bsky.social previews the series, which begins in a few hours:

New @fangraphs.com: the AL champions will be one of these two analytically-inclined, low-payroll, high-contact teams

Yikes
Ossoff is acting like Trump/MAGA/GOP and what they’ve done to the country is Actually Bad. Charismatic and well spoken, which sure helps. But no “my friends across the aisle,” no acting like the imaginary “Baileys” are the only ones who matter, no “don’t talk values, only kitchen table.” That’s it.
Shropshire's Seasons in Hell had the definitive account of the Ten-Cent Beer Night Riot from 1974. I included some passages when I wrote about the anniversary of that game at Si.com
RIP Mike Shropshire. Seasons in Hell is an absolute gem, one of the funniest baseball books ever written. From 1998-2001(ish), I think I shared my copy with ~ half a dozen people and then ended up replacing it so I could reread it a few years later. Well worth it.
I will not vote for any candidate who does not promise to hold the American League Central accountable for its actions. And I am not alone.
Ossoff's superpower is that he correctly thinks his opponent is a contemptible piece of shit and he is willing to explain why in clear and direct language.

And I watched both of those games from the Yankee Stadium press box
