I was asked by some people what the student protests in France are asking for so I did a quick translation of their recent communique. tldr: massive funding for education; end to the electronic college application system; hiring of new faculty; end to anti-protest laws

The High School syndicalist union count today 1800 blocked high schools, subjects to protests or closed by the national education board. The level of mobilization hit a new record. Its a dark day in the high schools and faculties. The student union counts 90% of faculties blocked. Everywhere in the country, the syndicalists have been numerous in to protect and support the high schoolers. The afternoon, we call on all high schools to join the protests, cautious and determined. The signal sent everywhere is that of a massive convergence in the revolt against the breaking of education and the unexceptable living conditions. The only solution is reafirmed: that the government cedes to these demands: End to Parcoursup (the electronic college acceptance service) and the opening of 150000 places in places of higher learning Emergency funding of 10 billion euro for the saddle-pack??? (im not sure what they mean by this exactly but I think the idea is that its 10 billion to do emergency upgrading of schools and funding of the education sector) Massive hiring End to the repression and abandonment of the law of breaker-culprit (a new anti-protest law) The USL will support all of the renewals decided by the high school students. It will continue to be in dialogue with all the parts of the social movement to continue the convergence, growing the movement. Only victory will bring a return to calmness. Zio was literally popularized by David Duke of the KKK as a antisemitic slur. Why go around using a term that people are telling you is a slur when there are plenty of other terms you can use to insult Zionists that aren’t anti-Jewish?
