My family is from the area around Punxsutawney. My great-grandparents ran a store next to the hospital the mining company built. My grandfather and father were both born in this hospital. A basic cable did an episode about it being haunted.

You know that the mines in PA liked to get newly arrived Italians and Eastern Europeans because they felt they were somehow less likely to organize. The Irish and the blacks were the ones seen as most likely to organize and/or resist. My grandfather was in a union though and his life was nice.
