to be fair to the literal de nada, "it's nothing" is actually a really reasonable English translation - that's a SUPER common English saying! If someone says thank you and you say, "it's nothing~" that's like, "it's no big deal, it was easy to do, no need for thanks" it's common!

The thing about the Mormon book is I think it is exactly as racist as the old book, but because it was written RECENTLY, the racism still is stuff we recognize, like, no one is an Aminite or a Canaanite who might read, like, the Torah and go, "Hey wait one fucking second here"

Q. Does justice hobo-ing leave Reacher time for romance? A. Sort of! When Reacher comes to town, a local law enforcement lady of some kind generally feels that she will never again meet a man this large and wishes to take advantage of this fact. Reacher is happy to oblige. They part amiably.

Q. Does Reacher believe in due process? A. As an angry and enormous justice hobo, Reacher believes that evil needs to be punched repeatedly in the face until it goes away. It is very cathartic, but not necessarily the sort of thing that fits within the American justice system.

Q. What kind of criminal conspiracies are we talking about here? A. All kinds! But most prominently Reacher takes on the kind of local businessmen who are exploiting their communities through thuggery. If Reacher sees that the little man is in trouble, he comes to the rescue because he is big.

Q. Reacher is homeless? A. Yes! Reacher wanders through the country with only a toothbrush, picking up new clothes at thrift stores, and simply drifts from place to place until he finds himself in the way of some sort of terrible criminal conspiracy he must solve with his largeness.
