BTW the company that did the cutting this weekend, Riverbend Landscapes and Tree Service, has a contract with the government to remove "hazardous" trees along the George Washington Memorial Parkway, but I see no new contract for them for this work in particular.

Definitely the same
Yes, doubt you can roll out that many guys on a Saturday on a few hours' notice. This seems scheduled.
This is dangerously naive. MTG has been in the disinfo and political fuckery world for nearly a decade now, a packaged product pushed into office. She's on a new assignment now, to help with a post-Trump, pro-Russia far right movement that sucks in naive members of the far left. Don't fall for it.
I think it's just bad writing. If people said "we have ethics that prevent a trial when the benefits are clear and the benefits of vaccines are SO CLEAR THAT TRIALS ARE FORBIDDEN", that would work.
That's why it's unethical. If in the course of a clinical trial the benefits of what you're testing become unambiguous, you have to stop the trial and give it to everyone. In this case the benefits are clear even before the trial starts. So you can't even start a trial, ethically.
The video not only has a neo-Nazi soundtrack; it has a bunch of non-Columbus references. It segues from Columbus to Washington crossing the Delaware to Lewis (or Clark) with Sacajawea. A string of illustrations of white people seizing territory.
Yes - they seem to have taken it down. Which means people were giving them feedback.
This is true. That's why cases like the tree-cutting are helpful for getting people moving. Because it's a single thing, it's visible, it's understandable, and people feel they can fight for it. A tree is tangible. Fighting for a tree gets you out of apathy mode.
This is a good movie about people trying to get out from under an authoritarian regime, how a seemingly stupid ad campaign was what finally pushed them out. Little things help, everything we do matters. Every person, every act.
All this sucks and isn't "fair". But it sucks more to be under attack in Sudan or Ukraine. Yes here it's our own government, but we're hardly alone in this - lawless oligarchial regimes are pretty much the norm. Other countries figured out how to get out from under them. Are we less capable?
Doomerism is toxic, that's what people are trying to prevent. Go ahead and block if you like, it's a free country.
You can sit and cry or pick yourself up and do something. We all have to decide that. Oct. 17 is another No Kings protest. You can go. That kind of protest works best if it's routine, relentless. But even intermittent helps, especially before the midterms.
that's a bad screenshot; it's clearer on the video.
NBC has video. T-shirts even have the company phone number on them.

Facebook is up, Google reviews are up, and their phone is still taking messages as of 1/2 hour ago.
Um, the fact that they're working in company-branded T-shirts and using company-branded vehicles?
Their phone is still operating, and Facebook is still up.
Exactly.
