if your agents are going to commit crimes, you are legally responsible if you cannot figure out how to prevent your agents from doing crimes, you’re going to have to choose between releasing them and protecting yourself from criminal liability imo this would do more for “ai safety” than a sex cult

What Cage has done for literally the past decade is exactly this, he finds a weird eccentric script by a first time filmmaker, signs on, his name brings in clout, he makes the film, and sometimes it's not very good. But it's still artistic as hell. This is why I *love* Cage.

It’s normal (and correct) to refuse to sign your likeness or performance over to AI. Even if there’s no indication that AI will specifically be used? Even if legally you’d be protected according to all sources? Saying no and standing by that is right.

"The Pentagon has scheduled Hasan’s death for the first week of Advent, when the Church spends its days waiting for a child. Hegseth wants the country to gather around its screens that Thursday and watch soldiers shoot a paralyzed man in a wheelchair."

Anyone who sells you a tool that promises to outsource the work of your relationships, or the loving tasks of connecting to our friends and family, is someone who is trying to rob you of your own humanity. For god's sake. Say no to this. Say no to all of it.

This cat doesn't even cover up after using the litter box, she just deposits a biohazard and looks at you like this

Photo of a gray cat sitting on a table staring at the camera. It is apparent that there is nothing behind those yellow-green eyes of hers. She listens to her internal monologue, a constant symphony of discordant kazoos.

My room, where the litter box is, smells like a cow shit in it.

When I told my therapist about this movie, he started laughing. It's one of the highlights of the year for me, for a bunch of reasons.

This is maybe too much of a slow burn for too long to fully land. But once it hits that final stretch, I was SWEATING. It's a masterful display of the idea that there's no fear in the bang, and knowing that a scare is coming makes the scenes all the more tense as it gets drawn out longer and longer.

The opening here? Fucking great. The rest of the film, largely disconnected from the strong start, is undercooked, but I wouldn't call it outright bad. Another version of this same basic script could probably rock.

hey all, just a heads up to my artist peers- this is all AI slop, I would avoid this. It isn't adobe code, it's just vibecoded to emulate their features.

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?

4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!

The glacial pace makes it a bit difficult, but I feel like this one's gonna haunt me late tonight when I wake up at 2am. It's so uncomfortable for so many reasons, and gives us no explanations we can really trust. The digital video works fantastic here, too.

Now watching... Marebito (2004) Dir: Takashi Shimizu

@murphofilmo.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 8:43 PM

Oh, forgot to post my thoughts! Interesting, well-crafted in a lot of ways, but... it's got some weird and significant flaws in how it tells the story. I think it'll click more on a rewatch- several months from now at the earliest. Visually stylish as hell and Wayans puts in some amazing work.
