I'm Jon, I have a YouTube channel focused on collecting, reading and chatting about science fiction books old and new. I plan to do the same on here.

@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialOurs will be stumps of very tall buildings. They will speculate about their original height and meaning, and about how they were transported from Wales on donkeys.
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialHi Folks, new video🎬! I take a look at thinking machines in science fiction and the change in the way there were depicted over time. Check it out 👀! #scifibooks #sciencefiction #ai #booktube

@kdsbooks.bsky.socialReposted by @scifiscavenger.bsky.socialMy book collection is approaching 3500 books (including digital which accounts for about 15%). I think it was around COVID where it was under 2000..
Most are in storage boxes, including my vintage SFF, but I have a few bookcases in a couple of rooms.

Full tour of my science fiction shelves. Will I ever read them all? Probably not, but then what's the point of a library full of books I've already read? #scifibooks #sciencefiction #bookcollecting #librarytour

@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialIt's futile. I'm reduced to double parking now.

@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialReposted by @scifiscavenger.bsky.socialstate of the nation on the cyberpunk and related collecting spasm that began last month. with the free expenditure of hard cash, it's coming along nicely. @scifiscavenger.bsky.socialthanks that's way outside my collecting focus of the 1980s +/- 5 years
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialyes that cover is super-cheesy. thanks for the tip Joachim. 👍
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialI have Tea actually so didnt add it to the list. Hardwired is proving elusive.
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialYeah they often have a bunch of separate signing sheets that get sent round in the post then they get stuck in the books. Otherwise you just have to hope they're all at the same meet.

@futurerevisited.bsky.socialReposted by @scifiscavenger.bsky.socialIt’s a sobering thought when, having enjoyed a collection so much, you realise you’re down to the final stories.
This tale, hauntingly depicting a boat trip down a disused canal on an alien world, is sometimes denoted as one of Keith Roberts’s ‘minor’ stories.
Hah, there is no such thing…🙂

@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialSee also steam engine doom.
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialI'm going to read The Affirmation soon, and yes the Martine books are a good example too. Cheers Paul, thanks for watching 👀!
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialVery. It's in mint condition too. I do have the stripy paperback edition somewhere but I'll sell that as a small offset to the cost of this one.
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialArrival today, signed by 4 of the contributors, the most costly individual book of the several I bought in a cyberpunk-related collecting frenzy last month. #scifibooks #sciencefiction #bookcollecting #cyberpunk #bookhaul
The future's so bright, I gotta wear...
@scifiscavenger.bsky.socialI'd watch a Jed Mercurio DW.
