Because AI is evil on every level. Algorithms trained by Kenyan sweatshop labor, rapaciously bad for the environment, has horrific track record for causing people to kill themselves or go on rampages, and can't even give me a correct answer to a simple question. They use it, I bail. Pure and simple.

And if all indie devs start to use it (They won't, too many of them care too much to do so), then there are enough games that I've never played that were already on the market before generative AI that I'm set for life. I WILL NOT accept the replacement of human effort in the things that I love...

All I've been buying for like the last year or two is Indie games, ones where the devs don't use it. And the crazy thing? I've had probably the best year of new games I've ever had. If AI infecting all mainstream games means only indies are left without it, I'll be fine with that.

Yeah, I've never understood that mentality. If I find out the well was poisoned, I don't ask "how poison?", I just move on and find a new source of entertainment. If my all time favorite game series all start using Gen AI, I will stop playing all of them.

The worst is that JKR has openly accepted any and all fan content, since she knows that all publicity is good publicity. I'm genuinely disappointed in the number of people who seemed to forget that her money active funds hate groups and anti-rights organizations to chase a mid-tier trend.
