I don’t think non physicians realize how for real physicians, vaccines is a controversy like flat earth or creationism or birds aren’t real "No true Scotsman" actually holds here it's hard to really describe how baffling this is, how frustrating its been to see grow and how high the price will be

exactly and the whole point of a culture is things like shared experiences, values, stories, beliefs, food recipes, etc — for better or worse human culture is a wonderful thing that shapes profoundly how we connect to others and with it being so far eroded we will be deeply harmed

I hate this phrasing, like it's some kind of modern trend or a matter of perspective. Columbus was a genocidal bastard. The Europeans OF HIS TIME knew it. Isabella appointed a royal commissioner to investigate rumors of his brutality and incompetence, who sent him back to Spain in literal chains.
