Yet another reason to arm Ukraine. And provide them with a target list.

Absolutely. It puzzled me that Nathan Gill took a long prison sentence and didn’t get it reduced by implicating others in his party. Perhaps the fact the paymasters were Russian dissuaded him? I do hope he’s safe in jail.

Congratulations. We need a human next to it for scale.

It comes after years of cover-ups & denials not least from Boris Johnson who was in charge of MI6 as foreign minister at the time & whose first act as PM was to ennoble the Baron of Siberia. But it also went beyond Johnson & Starmer continued it too. We now finally need some sunlight. 2/

Also, they meant “effect”. Unless their ambitions are far more modest than I thought.

Not so mutt Ben.

You know it's bad (for him) when he even shows up at all. It's not as if this crisis hasn't been building for months. With Johnson, the only question ever is cui bono.

@stephenstroud.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 9:07 PM

I would say now that if Labour wait until late 2028 they will win a small but workable majority.

@stephenstroud.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 8:55 PM

Then I'll stop hounding you.

@stephenstroud.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 8:30 PM

No, it makes sense. And then those who suddenly found themselves as standard bearers of the vote decided to brand anyone else as enemies of democracy. But it didn't have to pan out that way. Bizarrely they might have better defended their Brexit if they had acted otherwise.

@stephenstroud.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 8:26 PM

Taking this at face value, but I also hadn't heard anyone quite express the concerns around the margin in those terms.
