No introduction post on here yet so better late than never ✨ I’m Jade King! A trans critic working in video games, animation, and queer culture. Currently I’m over at TheGamer heading up their features department and have spent the past year trying to figure myself out and do work I’m proud of ❤️

It’s a Biddy Blas world and we’re all just living in it.

Godzilla Minus One rewatched and IMAX tickets booked for Minus Zero. Let’s go big lad 🦖

Please this is for a jigsaw puzzle 💀

A cheeky reminder that I'm available for work and since going freelance I've done cool stuff for Gamespot, VGC, Techradar, GamesRadar, and more to come. If you need someone to cover the latest games, films, shows, and other releases please hit me up. Super eager to get some thngs on the docket 👋🔥

I’ve lost just over 15 pounds! Weirdly one of the only things I crave is a Red Bull…

We spent the last 25 years moving every part of our lives (bills, romance, media, medical) over to various apps, online portals, software, and sites. And now, tech is creating AI tools that will let people easily modify, manipulate, and hack all of that stuff faster than ever before. Seems bad!

Freelancing is going decently, and there is always a chance I’ll stumble into some new role or try my hand at marketing or PR, but I don’t want to be 35 with hardly any prospects or on the edge more than I already am. Shit sucks. Fuck AI. Put all the billionaires in a volcano.

If things go to plan with my surgery early next year I’m probably going to go back to university for nursing or something along those lines. Writing, creating, and telling stories will forever be a passion I’ll never abandon, although I’m equally terrified of how bad things are right now.

Burn Valnet to the ground! 🔥 Rhi is the best and is only going to do more and more great things in the future, so it’s their loss.

Starting off the BlueSky account by announcing I got laid off from TheGamer. I am now freelance and available for news, reviews, previews, guides, I've pretty much done it all. If you also need someone that knows too much about FF14 you can hit me up at [email protected]

As someone playing around with their first manuscript but also has an awful ADHD scatterbrain this is invaluable.

just watch him kick out of the rainmaker at 1 or something.

A card like this on a weekly show? I'm swooning 🤼‍♀️ (way less ashamed of sharing my love for wrestling on here these days which is nice. It's just real life anime)

I see we are on games guides discourse. So here's my 2 cents. (ugh this might be long) When I started out (2011-ish), there was way more work going around for interview and feature-led work. That slowly declined until around 2018 or 2019. Instead, guides took its place.

GTA 6

TIL that the opening of Onimusha 3 was directed by Takashi Yamazaki, director of Godzilla: Minus One! Sadly, nearly every upload of it is a stretched, GenAI abomination. So, I ripped and painstakingly upscaled what I consider the greatest video game cinematic ever from its 2007 PC release! Enjoy!

I've been at publications where the only focus was on winning over Google no matter the cost when a sudden update could kill all that hard work overnight. The goal wasn't to build an audience through your content, only through climbing the ranks no matter the cost.
