I had several eye operations as a child and a good old terrifying consultant. No fabulous frightening giant Dada fly though, great deal of putting a parrot in a cage again and again. Felt like a metaphor at the time

That stuff I made was somewhere between a pickle and sauce, sweet and vinegary, sticky and a little salty with a lovely creeping heat, just the right side of sting and burn. Normally I’d go ketchup but I would definitely make/have this again!
