It's not the mooooooost in-depth review, but I liked it enough to document on the blog. The crossover between folk horror and the pandemic was my niche for a while
One half of the Crossroads team wrote about THE HARBINGER back in 2023. A quietly great film.
I only knew about it because @stinasdemons.com put it on my radar. I enjoy the director's other works, like Witch in the Window and YellowBrickRoad, which are also a little folk horrory
I'll be going on the 17th. Gotta venture into the Big City
So say we all
I like that their reactions to this improbably situation are both believable and pragmatic
Was trying to reply but missed:

I guess it's like women forgetting how bad childbirth is so they can keep having children? Some trauma has to be overcome. But at least that makes sense from an evolutionary perspective. Forgetting how to deal with deadly viruses seems counterproductive
All of this has happened before... very few media dealing directly with the Spanish Flu either. It's a whole thing
Legit
Tyra got a lot of shit for that but she was RIGHT
Is there a bigger red flag than use of the word "sheeple"
Americans are so fucking weird about smiling. Like do we not smile with our eyes? What has your rictus mouth gotta do with anything (sorry rant)
Also wild to remember a time when we weren't sure if covid affected children in any significant way
Correct!
I was living overseas at the time and we got a weekly mask ration (two). Wild times
