is it really comics if there is no regular extinction event? come on, now.
some folks are so desperate to see a MAGA redemption story that they'll amplify MTG and say broken clocks are right twice a day. i suggest you throw out the clock; it does you no good to keep it around.
If you would like to read my British Fantasy Award winning story Shadow Jack, it is still up on @giganotosaurus.bsky.social for your enjoyment

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.
i think that'd be a fun game to play, like "spot the opera fan." randomly bust out the first line of an aria and see who sings the second line back
i'm so glad i'm not the only one who thinks of opera scenes when writing (i have wanted a scene like the spotlight on tosca during vissi d'arte)
M'INVITASTIIIII E SON VENUTOOOO
Have you called your congress reps to tell them to defend Ilhan Omar? Now’s a good day! 5calls.org makes it easy!
Amazing!!! Congratulations to CL!
i have just finished job one and am about to dive into job two. and if i have any gumption left by the end of the night, maybe i will try my hand at job three.
and of course each one of these jobs requires a different skill set. and each skill set can only be acquired through study and diligent application. and none of these jobs are particularly well valued among the public because they constantly think you're overpaid or try to steal your work
wouldn't it be nice to have one job. just a single job where you don't have to go home and then get started on a second job. and maybe if you're really special you finish job two and jump on job three
Ruin a book by adding a word: The Chicago Manual of Gangnam Style
Wow, this post summarizes BITTER MEDICINE so well?!
Mysteriously fallen Qing Dynasty bowl of the Kangxi period precipitates widely divergent assertions of who should own and display what. The lack of interest in provenance and the leap to loot speak forcefully to 21st-century nationalist cultural politics.
Totally understand what you mean there! Not to complicate things further, but it feels like there are more people than ever getting published who got to jump the turnstile. Those are the mss I struggle with the most and often the mss that get big pushes.
we need to be reading more poetry. we suffer at the line level without a healthy diet of poetry.
maybe i am coming at this with a little crankitude on my part since i do not believe what i write is inaccessible - it's solidly between hop on pop and conrad's largest paragraph - and yet people are like "she didn't have to use big words" my dude. my DUDE.
And then there are writers whose prose is constructed for easy Instagram posts or social media videos but I should not be saltposting with so little sleep and caffeine.
I have many thoughts about line-level prose that I think can't be expressed properly on this website. But there have always been books whose prose is supposed to slide by under the reader's eyes. Whole subgenres exist where the text is not supposed to be memorable.
