Swifts are incredibly faithful to their nesting places, but when older buildings are repaired, the gaps they used for nesting get blocked.

@sheffswiftnetwork.bsky.social is attempting to build a network of people and neighbourhoods that gives swifts somewhere to nest across #Sheffield.

My partner and I recently returned from cycling the Hadrian's C2C cycle route, having cycled 260km with 2,000m of ascent in 4 and a bit days.

Not volunteering this week but both of us are running #parkrun today at #Waverley Lakes, (border of #Rotherham / #Sheffield).

I was marshalling last week at the turn around halfway point and here's a pic of the set up that I forgot to share.

Three smaller cones lead to a larger cone where there are two signs. One says "You're half way there!" with an image of Bon Jovi and the other says "Turn around!" with an image of Bonnie Tyler
