I say "seems to be" because I saw one version that states that dividing damage requires at least one target, whereas the comprehensive rules from Wizards from this year doesn't include that verbiage. So it is confusing.

I think the sequel does a good job of recontextualizing that, because you HAVE to sell your soul to marry into these families. As we saw, there were no innocents. And while I get what you're saying, where it feels like they were forced and not willing, I think that's the added human layer.

I totally get that. This difference is honestly fascinating. Like, I love talking with my mom on the phone, but I will always text first and wait for a reply before calling. But beyond her? Ugh it's SO stressful to be on the phone because I have to literally stop everything else.

Meanwhile text, to me, feels a lot less imposing. A call feels so... idk, aggressive. (Me calling someone else.) A text lets us have the conversation at a convenient pace for everyone. It's intriguing that the difference could be generational! I hadn't thought of that before.
