The entire point of GLMK is that it paints bigots as the stupid ignorant ones, but here, Stryker feels like he is in the right. It is reforming the Catholic church while also pulling on trad roots (much as the church is becoming more liberal but also having a very trad renaissance) 3/x

Stryker works because he is a prot, mutants being accepted kinda ruins that interesting concept by making the division less painful (do you save even the "problematic ones" when you are under attack as a whole), and the biggest one for me, constantly calling back to GLMK feels weird. 2/x

Midnight X-Men definitely feels like the weaker of the bunch, it is the more interesting concept (turning a divided and othered found family in on itself through being even more monstrous and divided), but also it feels too clever? 1/x

Midnight Spiderman was really great, but that one repeated panel (if you read it you know the one) was too much and almost made me puke every time. Great book, I will not be picking up issue 2
