Awkward moments in wood stove ownership. It got out fine, but not before spreading ash throughout the newly-cleaned kitchen. Bugger.

A large-ish bird sitting inside the top of our wood stove, having dropped down the stovepipe. A Northern Flicker, perhaps?

The Flicker(?) contemplates escape through the stove door rather than up the way it came.

Dumbass Northern flicker (possibly drunk on nearby crabapples) crashed through my window screen and got stuck between the screen and the window. Even after I enlarged the opening, it still took him a while to get out (he’s fine now btw).
