It's the case for loads of new drugs too. They do generally (but not always) now at least have a molecule that they deliberately target, but that doesn't mean they know why targeting that molecule has the effect that it does.

Sorry, but that's a skill issue. Most software developers now use agentic coding tools because it makes us massively more productive. Yes, even when we review the code. It's not even close.
