The Eurosky folks have been working on their stuff for much longer, in the open, and suddenly W showed up and stole the thunder, making some big EU accounts migrate there instead

So there's an element of competition, and also I think a lot of people feel that there's a danger here that if W blows up in a bad way, it could have a negative effect on the whole Atmosphere and make us lose the chance we had to build something good that's European and free from US Big Tech.

A lot of people here just don't see W as a real open alternative to Big Tech built in a right way, and see it as taking away attention from other projects built around the Atmosphere like Eurosky, which are more open and community-centered.
