The grim irony is that if Trump hadn't started his damn fool war with Iran, we could have shifted much of those interceptor stocks over to Ukraine to protect Ukrainian civilians and then we would actually have the leverage to ask Zelensky and Ukraine not to kinetically sanction Russian oil.

Religion note: Emmer, a Catholic, leads his answer here with “I’m personally against the death penalty” — a Catholic position. But this…may be a new position for him? In 2015, Emmer co-sponsored a bill that would’ve made killing a police officer “an aggravating factor” in death penalty decisions.
