"Strings for the Wrong" Style: B-flat major, 118 BPM. Chicago Blues meets Chamber Music — lush string quartet (two violins, viola, cello) playing raw blues figures while a vintage National steel guitar cuts through. Mood: defiant t Lyrics: They gave the blues a string quartet tonight I been living in the key of D-flat minor Since my good sense packed its things and left Found a half-truth on the kitchen counter And a love note written for somebody else But the strings play on, the strings play on ##Oh, they play on## Some kind of beautiful wrapped around the wrong ##Around the wrong## I never asked for elegance in my suffering But here it comes regardless, here it comes My grandmother said sorrow wants an audience So dress it well and let the neighbors see I put my heartbreak in a wool-lined casket And the viola wept for what was left of me Maybe grief deserves a little grandeur Maybe pain should get its curtain call So the strings play on, the strings play on ##Oh, they play on##
