@lymphomalass.bsky.socialInkTober 2026 - Day 11: #rescue
My small tribute to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) unpaid volunteers who rescue anyone in distress or danger of drowning at sea or along our #coast.
Hope you're keeping safe & having a great Sunday!

@parliamentconnect.bsky.socialWill Forster says RNLI lifeboats were turned away from Portsmouth and Southampton, leaving volunteers facing anti-migrant protests, and seeks a statement. @willforster.bsky.social (@libdems.org.uk) House of Commons, 10 September 2026 #Woking #UK #ParliamentConnect #RNLI #Portsmouth #Southampton
@marksimpson.bsky.socialCaller Abigail on LBC just now. Absolutely brilliant. #RNLI
@willforster.bsky.socialI'm deeply concerned that #RNLI lifeboats were recently turned away from two ports, Portsmouth and Southampton.
I've demanded that the Government explains why harbourmasters were allowed to turn away lifeboats that are there to save lives.

@marcowenjones.bsky.socialThis whole #RNLI targeting is absolutely reprehensible. For my part they are absolute heroes. A friend and I actually wrote and recorded a song based on the RNLI when we were doing our PhDs. For fans of British Sea Power (the band obv), Idlewild, and the RNLI M<3 - have a listen #RNLISavesLives
