Once Upon a Library Wish is for readers who…
Have wished to travel to a fantasy world.
Don’t mind a world where clothing is optional.
Like weddings that are short and sweet.
(So the couple can get to the fun afterward.)
The cover of Once Upon a Library Wish by Jessica E. Subject shows a light-brown haired, light-skinned, bare-chested man on the left. Beside him is a dark-haired, light-skinned, bare-chested man. In front of them is an open, magical book. They are standing in a cave, and in the cave’s opening, a full moon is visible with a dragon flying in front of it. Around all of them are blue wisps with white orbs of light.

“Don’t you want to wait until we get home?” I was used to Atlas taking the lead, as he had far more experience with sex than I did, but the hunger in his eyes was so much deeper than I had seen before. Almost as if the ceremony had heightened our desires. Because I was ready to do whatever he told me just to plunge myself deep inside him.
“Don’t care.” He rolled my shirt off my shoulders before yanking my pants down as he lowered to his knees. “Right here is good.”

A wave of grief swept over me as the walls seemed to cave in around me. I raced out of her room, down the hallway, and out of the building, needing to escape. Not the way I had when I went to the Enchanted Forest but from the intense emotions that threatened to rip me apart. I stumbled across the gravel path in the garden to the wooded area behind it. Then I fell to the ground, curled up in a fetal position, and let my sorrow swallow me. My eyes burned as tears fell in an uncontrollable stream. My chest ached. But my heart… I felt the hole. The emptiness. It was painful when my father died, but this was much worse. I didn’t know how I would survive her loss. If I even wanted to.

“Okay.” I reached back and grabbed his wrist. “One finger. Right there.” Instead of pushing his finger in, I moved to meet him, to take him inside me. A little at first. Just enough to gage his reaction. Then a hint more. Bit by bit until I reached his knuckles.
That was when he took over. Grasping my hip, he drove his finger in and out of me, slowly at first then with ever-increasing speed.
I wanted more.
“Two,” I groaned. “Use two fingers.”

Yet, as I was taught more about living in the Enchanted Forest, I couldn’t stop thinking about the dragon. There was something about him that everyone kept from me. He was Falco’s friend, and welcomed around his children, so he couldn’t be that horrible. Maybe he was tiny. Could he fit in the palm of my hand? I needed to figure out the mystery that was Max, and I didn’t know if I could sleep in this world until I did.

Walter crossed his arms. “Well, I’m sure leaving him by himself at your cave won’t make things any better. You should have brought him with you.”
“How?” I glanced down at my human form. “Legs like these don’t move as fast as my wings can carry me. He would never be able to keep up.”
With a shrug, he smirked. “I guess you’ve never heard of dragon riders, then. I’m sure it would be quite the experience for Atlas to clutch onto your back while you fly through the air.”
I scoffed at the idea of being ridden by an outer-worlder. I doubted he would be comfortable on my back or have the ability to hang on. “You must be making that up.”

Chewing his bottom lips, he wiggled his fingers. “Your arm. It looks like you have scales right in your skin.”
I glanced down at my forearm then at his, never noticing the difference in myself before. Perhaps that was why the other recently arrived outer-worlders had such an issue with me. “I can try harder to look like you.”
“No.” He shook his head. “It’s beautiful. Your skin shimmers. Can I feel it?”
I held out my arm, my heart thumping in my chest at the idea of his touch. “Go ahead.”
His hand shook as he brought his fingers toward my biceps. Then he ran the tips down my skin to the top of my hand. “I can’t believe you’re real.”
