A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl named May dressed in pink, is standing in a grassy field with a 4-way path in the middle. There are also two black-blue block creatures wandering nearby. She walks repeatedly into them, causing her to respawn each time. Respawning causes her to turn a blue color, and then a dissolve shader on her character, disappearing one pixel at a time, while slowly coalescing into a floating blue orb. The orb vibrates wildly as it floats towards her original position. The dissolve shader reverses, causing her to reappear blue, before finally returning to her original pink color. This repeats several times. The trajectory of each respawn is different, and is occasionally steered by the controller.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, is standing in a grassy area filled with trees. She approaches a nearby tree stump and remarks how she uses it to sleep on.

In a next scene, she approaches another one. This one is slanted at an angle. She remarks how it would make a lousy bed since any person would slide right off.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. A parchment menu interface is shown, with 3 tabs at the top: Map, Items, and System. The video shows tabbing between them using buttons, and also by moving a cursor around. The selected tab is highlighted. The map tab shows an 18x12 square grid of the overworld.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, is standing in a grassy area with several large flowers nearby. She is shown repeatedly opening and closing a large piece of parchment. As she does, a menu interface rolls up and covers the entire screen, then rolls back down, revealing the grassy area again, and her closing it.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, is standing in a grassy area with several large flowers nearby. Captions are as follows as she interacts with the flowers:

The main goal of my game is to collect 8 Prized Flowers.
But there are also 32 additional, optional flowers to find!
The locations are the same for all players.
But the type of flower at each location is randomized for each playthrough.
Flowers are animated, and you can see their pollen in the air too.
Collecting a flower will treat you to one real-life fact about it.
And also subject you to an awful pun.
Once collected, the flower no longer moves so you can tell you got it.
You can view which flowers you obtained in your inventory.
Flower types are randomized, but the location mapped to each slot is the same for all players.
This will make it easy to ask others for help if you're missing any.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, is shown entering and exiting some rooms in a cave, showing how objects and creatures in those rooms stay in the same state, even if we leave the room and return.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, talks to a girl dressed in green and obtains a large beach hat, which she then walks around in for a bit.
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, is shown demonstrating numerous visual fx in the game while exploring a small grassy area.

The captions describe the effects, and they read as follows:

The shadow that appears under you when you jump, is a subsprite.

In tall grass, a subsprite of grass is added which covers your feet.

A heavy item that you pick up becomes a subsprite when held over your head.

It was easy to add a shadow and tall grass subsprites to it, too.

Any collectibles will become a subsprite when they briefly float over your head.

Items that enemies hold over their heads are also subsprites.

Or a "Zzz" effect for a sleeping character.

A tiny character that gets to ride on your head is also a subsprite.

Subsprites will make it much easier to add all kinds of effects to ingame objects.

Thanks for watching!
A video of a top-down pixelart indie game in development. The player character, a girl dressed in pink, triggers a cutscene with another girl dressed in green. They are standing in a grassy area with trees, flowers, a path, and a nearby stream. Immediately, the pink girl changes to a transparent blob-like appearance and then walks around.
