Butternut squash carving, with shadows painted in using black food coloring. Two eyes are visible through the holes in the ghost costume, and tentacles are visible at the bottom of the costume where one might expect feet. The creature is standing on a simple, triangle-eyed jack o’lantern.
Butternut squash carved into an "Octo-Bear;" from the waist up he's a bear holding a beer, from the waist down he's all octopus tentacles. Another butternut carved into a tardigrade (or "water bear"), and a life-sized bear cub made of pumpkins. All three have some color, done with food coloring.
Relief-sculpted pumpkin carving: a bearded male face, his right eye stitch up; his left eye is also the right eye of a female skeleton face, with long, flowing hair. It's all pretty gross, T B H.
