Gameplay footage of Ace Combat X Mission 1 "Skies of Deception" The footage opens showing the settings menu, where an impractical custom control scheme has been selected. All thumbstick directions (usually assigned to pitch/roll) have been assigned to changing view, all d-pad directions have been assigned to toggling the size/distance of the radar display, switching target has been assigned to the L button (usually brake or yaw) and firing missiles has been assigned to the R button (usually throttle or yaw), throttle is assigned to holding L and R together, and brake is unassigned. Pitching up has been assigned to the square button and rolling left has been assigned to the triangle button. Pitching down and rolling right are unassigned. Finally, the select button has also been assigned to changing view. The footage shows the mission being completed with this control configuration. When leaving the menu, the game warns: "Some basic aircraft controls have not been assigned. Proceed anyway?" The airplane used is the Eurofighter Typhoon, with the Scarface Squadron paint scheme from the original Ace Combat / Air Combat. The soundtrack has also been switched from the original track "Skies of Deception" to Ace Combat 3's "The Execution" followed by Ace Combat X's "Pinned Down, In Pursuit II" Happy Ace Combat 8 launch!
