Against all the odds I have successfully modified a Sega Genesis controller to be Kempston+3 fire buttons compatible. the kind of fine mod work that *usually* ends in a tantrum.

Hello to all the new followers via retro Starter Packs! My main #retrocomputing passion is for the #SAMCoupe, a British #Z80 based home computer released in December 1989 - It's over 33 years I've been developing for it! Since 2020 I've also made hardware for #ZXSpectrum and #RC2014 & compatibles.
Maybe more bug fixing, maybe dialogue writing, maybe something else, who knows what will happen in this stream~

I'm still dedicated to supporting #Z80 systems. 33+ years developing for the #SAMCoupe. Hardware, Software, SAM Revival magazine -> www.samcoupe.com

A few bits for #ZXSpectrum -> zx.samcoupe.com
End of an era. #Zilog EOL'd the #Z80 over two years ago, now parent IXYS/Littelfuse issue EOL notification for all MCU lines. Got my first Z80 in a #ZXSpectrum in '83 then #SAMCoupe in '93. Made my own Z80 stuff since late 90s. Designed industrial equipment with eZ80 in 2003, plus co-pro on SAM.

I’ve released Atom 0.3.5, my Z80 assembler for CP/M. Edit, assemble and run on the Z80 itself. Try it in Triptych’s browser version with an editor and commented demo ready to go.
Bizmuth now runs in your browser. Every Spectrum from the 16K to the +3, plus the ZX Spectrum Next booting NextZXOS — one click, nothing to install.

FantASM 2.2.0 — the linker grows up: link maps, fxi version 3, !test blocks carried through the link, and brace blocks for MACRO, IF, REP and friends. 25 fixes.
Bizmuth 1.0.0-rc1 — first release candidate of my ZX Spectrum Next emulator + debugger. Faster, and far lighter on the host: about a quarter of the CPU time with a window open. Free.

Always get a thrill when a new PCB arrives from the board house!
I tried out the uc80 C compiler for z80 + cp/m with surprisingly good results:
Moderate success! Two Philips P2500 PSUs got sacrificed in the process of making one boot to ROM, but that totally worked! And the Philips monitor works too!
45+ old electronics struggle a bit when coming back to life. The next days/weeks will be PSU repair...
Finally pulled apart one of the other P2500's and as expected this one has the secondary CPU card!
ROM dump time ❤️
Some bug fixing then probably dialogue writing~
We now have an IRC btw :3
