During the US #RevolutionaryWar British forces sowed chaos by offering freedom to #Black slaves who joined the army. Facing a hard siege, #LordCornwallis betrayed this promise on #ThisDayInHistory in 1781, driving them from #Yorktown to be cut down by the Americans or reënslaved.
