having the music go straight back to the slower and traditional music was also a bit shocking. I was expecting there to be more of the "different" music but there wasnt. that poem was on its own. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty

the change in music gives it such a different vibe and emotion. i do not feel as connected in the story anymore. It feels like something I just stumbled upon #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
the first time i was listening i was not expecting the change in music for "tragedy strikes" and during the second listen, i was still not prepared #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
the first part that i felt like there was a shift in song was at 9:21. The way the words were spoken were no longer slowed down but a bit faster and it seemed like the pronunciation was a bit different as well. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
whenever there is long pauses in words being spoken i often think its another poem about to start, but often its just a break in the poem. I found that to be interesting. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i top translation reads like a conversation. It is something that someone is saying to another directly ex. "where is seat..." its very direct #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
The translations are so vastly different. There's a line on top that says "I would like to buy a ticket," which is very straightforward but the bottom is so beautifully written and doesn't even mention going somewhere; actually someone brings her something. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i noticed that the translation on top is more direct with the title of the poem but the bottom translation is not as dirrect and you may have to think how these words relate to the title(if at all) #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
there were moments where I heard the english clearly in the second poem, like "good morning," but I couldn't hear it for "Fine, thanks" #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i found the woman's voice in the poem to be so enchanting but also eerie in a way #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
she went "oh my God!" and the music matched!! #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i rly like the way the piece is constructed for both to understand -- it's really including #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
my role as a listener is to understand the feeling of the piece, the way the singer pronounces the words, to make sense in a language I can understand, to ensure that I am able to feel the piece in some which way I can. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i feel like both a speaker and a stranger bc i dont get the chinese meaning but i do get the sounds that im warping into english.. crazy how it sounds like both languages! #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
my brain switches into a "nonsense mode" when i start to connect both languages' sides -- thats when it really doesnt make sense to me #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
indeed! something can definitely mean something if it doesn't make sense-- it depends on how one takes it! see in this piece, the English side usnerstands one meaning while the Chinese side understands a different one-- one doesn't understand the other languages' side. #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i feel like the rules that are being broken are the understanding and translation ones -- both languages yield different meanings of the piece and neither one doesn't seem to match the other side's meaning #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
i'd say the target audience is definitely english speakers as well as people who understand Chinese because it goes to both ways #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
to me, i think sounds are definitely being translated here more than meaning - as well as feeling! i feel it through the music and sounds #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
to me, the sounds land in my ears and my head/throat because it feels like i know what the singer is saying in english, but it's not english #hwa4 #yingelishiparty
