Ugh, a winning Penko is most unbearable. If she does win, she'll play either Svitolina or Kartal in the semis.

Time for the Not Miss Congeniality match!

*Maja!! (edit function please!)

I posted this before the match actually ended. Great last game!

Maja is up 1-5. Jovic serving and gets to game point to stay in the match 40-15; hits into the net 40-30; out deuce; into net AD Maja; hits out - game, set, match to Maja 1-6

The other quarterfinal matches tonight are:

Li/Swiatek- I think Iga will win but Ann is a disruptor.

Svitolina/Kartal- a great match of sadness

Shnaider/Penko - LOL match of the night

#Wuhan #Tennis

Of course I fell asleep on Maya's match with Iva. I watched the replay. What a joy to see her come back and take over the match to defeat Jovic in straight sets in the end. Served a breadstick even.

She will now play Sakkari in the QFs tonight.
