I was in Missisauga recently and saw atleast 4 PSAs about election day, next to bus stops, main roads etc. Haven't spotted any PSA like that in Waterloo (atleast city of waterloo). It looks like the City is not doing anything to create awareness about the municipal election. #WRVotes

Me when there's a lineup to vote at advance polls for a municipal election: 😁
Me when I realize the average age of the line is 65 and seniors barely able to walk: 😭

Shannon Weber says taxes have gone up much more compared to Kitchener & Waterloo. Says will keep taxes to inflation and focus on critical infrastructure & services. #WRvotes

Mayor McCabe has a cold but is here. For taxes she doesn’t believe in raising them but also doesn’t want to cut services. Seek effieciencies through technology and shared procurement. #WRvotes

The tax question. Jamie Hari says change how we tax (higher value homes pay more). Jerry Jiang says he didn’t fill out surveys because they force a binary. “Taxes aren’t a yes or no” solution. #wrvotes

Truly standing room only at the Waterloo Mayor all candidate meeting. Unfortunately candidates are not on a raised platform; they have been asked to stand when speaking. #wrvotes #waterloo

“Cambridge has never bulldozed encampments” (gasps&scoffs from audience ) “if you’re going to heckle me come up front” - Jan Liggett, talking how support for addiction & mental health support is needed, not shelter beds. #WRvotes

Something I’ve heard before - Cambridge is the second largest municipality in the Region of Waterloo so why don’t they get the 2nd most representation on council? #WRvotes

Tony Chaves says Cambridge needs less politics, more community. And aims to more affordable living for all. #WRvotes

Candidate Ken Roche is an RMT and also blind. Hilarious comment about holding conversations with people “in their underwear or less”. Well, being able to speak to people is a valuable skill for mayors. 😆 #WRvotes

At another town hall - Cambridge mayoral candidates. I already know who I’d vote for if I lived in Cambridge (here on behalf of Union).
Also it’s disappointing only one of six candidates is a woman. As we know, gender alone doesn’t indicate political beliefs. #WRvotes

Doug Craig said WRPS is underfunded (per 1000 residents) when compared to comparable sized cities. Pam Wolf calls for police to work with social services given 8000+ calls are for intimate partner violence. #WRvotes #CambridgeON

Sharing as Ontario municipal elections are just over 5 weeks away & we’ve had some recent close calls. I want to see all you Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge folks out at the polls! #WRvotes #watpoli
