“Daughter of the Vasiljev clan!” a man’s voice shouted out from somewhere, amplified through a horn or conch. Strange that he would use her mother’s given name. That was supposed to be a secret. “We seek not confrontation nor quarrel with you. We only wish to talk.” Merideth squeezed her sister’s tail hard but said nothing. What could there possibly be to discuss with people who sewed her sister up in a padded body suit, year over year? Who had such a collection of disfigured corpses in their waste? She had to admit she was intensely curious of the motivations of her sister’s acquisition, the purpose of this place and these people, but not enough to jeopardize their lives. What was happening here would need to remain a mystery. Anastasia considered a whisper to explain to her sister, but that would risk more visible breath to reveal an invisible mouth. Merideth would just have to trust her.

It crept up on me but I have had some plans brewing up here.” He tapped his forehead. “Even done something about some of them.” “What like?” “And spoil the surprise?” “Or reveal you’re going to be running out of here in a panic trying to organise everything at the last minute?” Eric laughed. “Don’t underestimate your brother, Angela. I thought you learned that in Blackpool. You’ll find out. Anyway, I’d best be off. Suit to deliver and measurements to get done. Should reach Stoke just in time for opening. Errr… Dad? Lingjiu, Jeb, Marty… With me for a second.” He walked out of the pub closely followed by the other four and began walking towards his house. “So. How are the plans going?” Fred grinned. “Perfect performance, Eric. Florists is fully booked, delivery to Beryl’s. We collect from there the night before. One cart’s enough for everything, I think. The men are all set for decorating one of the traps to our specs. Just married sign and boots dragged behind included. Beryl’s accepted the invite to the reception. ‘Suit’ in The Ribbon Gift

I returned to my room — I had my own room, now, for my visits. It was opulently appointed, but then every manor room was opulent. Or so it seemed. Scorpius was waiting for me. "Get dressed," he said. "We're going down to the shindig and you're wearing *that.*" He pointed to the bed, an enormous four-poster, and what lay upon it. Not a Muggle suit, exactly. Not old-school wizarding wear, either. No moving parts or glamour attached. But the jacket felt unbelievably lush — a velvet of deep, *deep,* almost black Slytherin green. The trousers and button-down fit me just right. On the waistcoat, an incredibly detailed rhythmic embroidery that looked like it *could* move if it chose, or if the right wizard activated it. "Is it mine, or am I just *borrowing* it?" Some say, were Some to look hardly nuff ubon it, Some could even glimpse the top from the very tob. Bunibo doesn't truck with Some—nor the strange compatriots Some shares. Would she prefer to wonder pon whatsoever it be herself with her own Wide-Eyes of Intuity and Pink Ears of Irradiance, both onst whomst [suits] evernicely so. *Some sure comes up with some of the funniest things, Bunibo,* Bunibo thinks to Bunibo, who is sweating a lot. *But what do YOU see? Down there?* Problem! 'Til now her peepers've been squeezed shut tight as be. Thing is, Bunibo is very afraid. Actually, she’s never felt this sensation before. That weird one, right before something big happens. It's a buzz in her fuzz. It’s horrible. It’s scary. It’s unfair. *You have to see.* Breath, please, breath. *Bunibo brave be.* Bunibo opens her eyes. What does Bunibo see?

As proof, the royal advisor will be here shortly. In the meantime, you will be taken to the camp and supervised until a determination has been made. I trust this will be satisfactory?” “I assume it will have to be.” Fox handed over her knife, which was currently her only weapon. Av’ry followed suit. “Thank you for your cooperation.” The captain nodded. They mounted and followed their escort back towards the camp. Av’ry leaned closer to her. “They only sent 7 people, and they took your knife?” He wisely avoided explaining why he was incredulous about that. “Come on, Ave. Miki is smart enough not to volunteer any… unnecessary information.” “Oh.” He considered that for a moment and cast a furtive glance at the soldiers around them. “No need for us to volunteer it either.” Truthfully, she preferred people not know what she was, for more reasons than one. “Right?”
